Since the Bahrain race is fast approaching (!!!), I have a bit of a conundrum and figured it would be best to ask you guys for advice.
Do any of you know where is best to live stream the F1 races? Is there even a site that offers such a service? Is there possibly a place that will post the full race after it's finished?
I don't have a television and rely on my computer + the internets for 100% of my media, and the closest thing I can get to a "live stream" of the races is BBC Sports commentators doing live updates (which I partially relied on last season). Any help you guys could offer would be great!

Thought I'd share this, if you haven't seen it already:

Seems like Allen intends on doing more of these video features (he had one about Cosworth and the rise of the private teams in the previous entry, too)...

I can't even remember if it was the end of last season or the season before, but anyway! Some people requested to be reminded close to the start of (some) season, about GridBids, a sort of F1 fantasy league thing. well.. I've never played fantasy league anything so I have no idea if its anything like that, BUT here's the link:

Admittedly, I have not been following F1 news too closely during the off-season, but when I saw the latest 2010 entry list pop up in my RSS, I took a look, and that was when I learned that US F1 will not be in the championship this year :-( Selfishly, I hope this means that Peter Windsor will be back for the Speed Channel coverage this year, which would be a positive for him in my opinion and also good for the Speed viewers - the coverage would simply not be the same without him after all these years.
I do find it interesting that there is still a driver space officially open (at the HRT Cosworth team) so late in the lead-up to the season.

Although I reluctantly agree with the FIA that refueling in F1 has become an unacceptable danger, I also think that the removal of fuel strategy will negatively impact the show. I was thinking that there must be a technical solution that would greatly improve safety of refueling, and came up with the following:
The fuel connector on the car would be provided with two new features - a sensor that would detect whether the hose was completely connected, partially connected or totally disconnected, and a solenoid that would keep the hose from connecting at all (and starting fuel flow) unless it was activated. The solenoid would be connected to the ECU and would only activate when the car was in Neutral. The sensor would disallow the ECU from switching the car into gear unless the hose was completely disconnected. The sensor might even be an RFID device that could ensure that the hose was not only disconnected, but at a certain distance away from the car thus ensuring that the refueller i...

Just saw this in my RSS about late rules changes for 2010, and this point about tires particularly interested me:
In addition, to encourage teams to run more during Friday practice, the Commission has proposed that one set of tyres has to be returned before the start of the second practice session, and two sets before the start of the third session.
This seems like a perfect win/win/win scenario. For the fans (especially those at the track), this means more cars running (ideally at once) during the practice sessions. For the teams, while I suppose they could return sets of tires which have not been used, that would be essentially money wasted, so they may as well go out on track and obtain more car data, which can be important for qualifying and race strategy and over car setup. For the tire manufacturers (still solely Bridgestone for 2010 if I remember correctly), the more tires they can get their hands on, the more data they have for tire improvements later in the season. ...

If there's anyone out there who, like me, doesn't have a swanky iPhone-type portable internet gadget and so doesn't see the point of having a Twitter account without it, I can recommend the
James Allen website.
If you click on the Twitter box on the right and then on the 'Live at Valencia' header; the site pulls together all the relevant tweets from a bunch of insiders/fans at the Valencia track to give you a Twitter feed, without the need to have your own account (you do have to refresh the page yourself, as it doesn't self-update).
I highly recommend it as a way of following testing (it's better than the BBC version as it pulls in from more people).

It's been confirmed; Schumacher is going to be at Mercedes, but only for a year (so far!) at least according to the Telegraph
I think a few of you owe EJ an apology ;p
(okay he could have played the odds, alternatively his decades as a manager in the sport (rather than
just a driver) have developed his instinct for real news as opposed to the random wishing and dreaming that the fans put out)

2005 German Grand PrixSilverstone was proof again of McLaren?s awesome pace. But Renault were right on their tail. Ferrari surely seem to have lost the plot, but their new aero package for Hockenheim could be a revelation. Both McLaren and Renault have one car to watch out for during qualifying ? Toyota, and specially Jarno Trulli. Whoever qualifies behind him is sure to lose the race lead to the one in front of him. Who?s going to win? Better not to guess.
The German Grand Prix is hosted at Hockenheim. Since the revisions of 2002 removed the long straights, it resembles many of its European brethren: a slow and medium corner based circuit, requiring relatively high downforce that rewards traction, good braking and balance. Overtaking is possible. Although the circuit no longer carries the challenge of seeing cars with minimum downforce settings attacking the stadium section, it retains some of the characteristics that made it stand out over the years: in particular, the crowd can fo...
